About this item

Genuine Marathon Premium Quality Lawn Seed (aka Marathon I) is the perfect grass for families, rambunctious kids and pets who are looking for a durable lawn. It can handle daily activity and recovers quickly from injury or damage that may occur. The medium green color stays year round and is easy to mow between 2 ½’’ and 3 ½’’. Even in shaded areas, Original Marathon will still perform well as it can tolerate up to 40% shade! With all these features, Original Marathon is ideal who want a beautiful lawn without having to put in too much effort or time into maintenance!

• CONSERVES WATER. Genuine Marathon has an aggressive root system that naturally searches for water upwards of 16” into your soil.
• HEAT TOLERANT. Genuine Marathon is created specifically for the heat of Southern California.
• GREEN YEAR-ROUND. Even though the seasons change your lawn will be a constant green all year-round. Unlike Bermuda or St. Augustine lawns that turn brown during late fall through winter this amazing turf will remain green with no need to overwinter with rye grass.
• FULL SUN UP TO 40% SHADE. Full sun is best for that lovely green color but Genuine Marathon can tolerate a fair amount of shade, up to 40%. Too much shade will make the grass thin and yellow in appearance.
• 100% WEED FREE. Other seed companies are proud to sell you their weed seeds. Look at their labels to see for yourself. You can rest assured our seed is 100% weed free – GUARANTEED!
• GRASS. It’s good for you, your family and the environment.
